Estudio de Avistamiento de aves (abril 2003)
Compiled by:

Notes: This list is based on winter observations only (mostly in the months of December /March), in a 15 km (10 miles) radius around the Laguna de Santa Maria del Oro, located in the foothills of the Santa Madre mountains in Nayarit, Mexico, 50 km from Tepic. This area provides excellent winter birding in a moderately warm and dry climate. Bird habitats include lake, river, agricultural, thorn forest, deciduous forest, oak-pine forests, arroyos, and mountain slopes, at elevations from 700 mt 1200 m. There are motel and restaurant facilities at the lake.
Species are listed in the order used in 'Birds of the World - A Checklist by James Clements,' the world checklist accepted by ABA.
Legend:
W = all winter
w = winter time, but on and off present
p= part of the winter only
m = migrant, at the beginning or end of winter
c = a common visitor
o = occasional visitor
v = rare visitor
a = accidental
Ease of finding in it's habitat when present, the percentage figure indicates a 'number of trips seen' estimate:
5 = excellent, 100%
4 = good, most trips, 75%
3 = fair, 50%
2 = poor, 25%, some luck helps
1 = hard to find, need luck
